Warehousing and distribution, arranged.

Sometimes freight needs to pause between legs. Setara arranges short-term and overflow storage, cross-docking, transloading, and distribution through a vetted network of 3PL and warehouse partners near major ports and border crossings, coordinated alongside your shipment so you never source another vendor.

What warehousing covers

Storage and distribution, on one file.

Warehousing with Setara is the space and handling between your freight legs: a place for goods to pause, a dock to move them from one mode to another, and the distribution that gets them onward. We arrange it next to the ports and crossings where freight most often needs to stop, so your goods move from container to truck to final mile without a gap.

We do not own the buildings. We arrange short-term and overflow storage, cross-docking, and transloading through a vetted network of 3PL and warehouse partners. A deep partner network lets us match each shipment to the right facility and scale to any volume, rather than steering you into space we have to fill.

Because storage is coordinated alongside the move, customs stays in step too. Entries are handled through our licensed customs broker partner, never in-house, so clearance is ready when cargo transloads or releases from storage. The result is one point of contact across forwarding, storage, and the final leg.

Storage and handling

What can we arrange?

Short-term and overflow storage

When a shipment has to wait for the next leg, a release, or a delivery window, we arrange short-term and overflow storage at a partner facility sized to the volume. No long lease, no new vendor, just space for as long as the goods need it.

Request storage space

Cross-docking and transloading

Move goods from an inbound vehicle straight to an outbound one, or shift cargo out of an ocean container and onto a domestic truck. Cross-docking and transloading keep freight flowing with minimal handling and storage in between.

Distribution and final-mile coordination

Once goods are ready to move onward, we coordinate distribution and the final mile, including the trucking leg through Setara and our carrier network, so your shipment reaches its destination on one file.

How it runs

How does a stored shipment flow?

01

Plan the pause

You tell us the lane, the volume, and why the goods need to stop. We pick a partner facility near the port or crossing that fits.

02

Receive and store

Cargo arrives, transloads if needed, and goes into short-term or overflow storage, all coordinated alongside the freight booking.

03

Clear customs

Our licensed broker partner files the entry with CBSA or CBP so release lines up with the move out of storage.

04

Distribute and deliver

We coordinate distribution and the final mile, with status updates from the dock through to proof of delivery.

Questions shippers ask

Warehousing and distribution FAQ.

Do you own your own warehouses?

No. We arrange storage, cross-docking, and transloading through a vetted network of 3PL and warehouse partners near major ports and border crossings. You get warehouse space sized to the shipment without signing a separate lease or sourcing another vendor, and we coordinate it alongside the freight on one file.

What is the difference between cross-docking and transloading?

Cross-docking moves goods from an inbound vehicle straight to an outbound one with little or no storage in between, which keeps freight flowing and cuts handling. Transloading shifts cargo between modes or equipment, for example out of an ocean container and onto a domestic truck. We arrange both through our partner network so your goods move from container to truck to final mile.

Can you store goods that need customs clearance?

Yes. Storage and transloading are coordinated alongside the freight, and customs is handled through our licensed customs broker partner, so clearance is in step with the cargo. We do not file entries in-house; the broker holds the licence and files with CBSA or CBP. See customs coordination.

Is warehousing offered on its own or only with freight?

Warehousing is usually arranged as part of a freight move, so a shipment can pause between legs without you sourcing another vendor. If you need short-term or overflow storage tied to cargo we are already coordinating, tell us the lane and the volume and we will arrange it with the right partner.

Where are the warehouse partners located?

Our vetted 3PL and warehouse partners sit near major ports and border crossings, which is where freight most often needs to pause, transload, or distribute. Our base is in Ontario, with coverage across Canada and cross-border into the United States. For space near a specific port or crossing, request a quote.

Need a place for freight to pause?
