Bring your book.
We carry the rest.
Run your own freight business on Setara's platform. You keep the customers, we handle credit, billing, collections, insurance and operations. Paid monthly on every file, for as long as your account ships. Work from anywhere.
You sell. We do everything else.
If you've built shipper relationships, you already own the hardest asset in freight. What eats your margin is everything around it: credit risk, invoicing, chasing payment, claims, insurance, systems, dispatch. As a Setara agent, all of that moves to us. You quote through our pricing desk, book on our paper, and get back to the only work that pays: your customers.
From first call to first file, three steps.
No fees, no buy-in, no waiting period. Most agents are quoting within days of signing.

Sell and get paid
You quote and win the freight, we move it and collect. Commission lands monthly, on every file, for as long as the account keeps shipping with you.
Keep more as you grow.
Commission is a share of the gross profit your accounts generate each month, and the share climbs with volume. It's uncapped, it's paid on every file, and it doesn't expire: an account you brought in years ago still pays you every month it ships.
| Monthly gross profit | Your share |
|---|---|
| First $10,000 | 40% |
| $10,000 to $25,000 | 50% |
| Above $25,000 | 55% |
Calculated on collected gross profit, paid monthly. Tiers apply per calendar month. Independent contractor structure; full schedule provided in the agent agreement.
What would your book pay?
Enter the gross profit your accounts generate in a typical month. Rule of thumb: gross profit runs 15 to 20 percent of freight revenue.
Illustration only, based on the published tiers and full monthly collection. Actual commission follows the agent agreement.
Built for people who already produce.
This is a business relationship, not a job. Agents are independent contractors, most operate through their own corporation, and earnings are commission only and uncapped. It's the right structure for a specific kind of person:
- Producers on someone else's paper. You're writing business at a brokerage or forwarder for a fraction of the margin you create. Here, the majority of it is yours.
- One-person brokerages. You kept all the margin but also all the risk and all the admin. Trade the back office and the credit exposure for selling time.
- Lane and trade specialists. Deep relationships on a specific corridor or commodity, ocean or air, import or export. Plug them into full-service capacity.
- Industry veterans. Decades of relationships that still ship. Keep them earning for you, on your schedule, from wherever you are.
Straight answers.
Who owns my customers?
You do. The accounts you bring are registered to you on day one, and they leave with you if you ever go. Accounts Setara hands you are house accounts and stay with Setara. It's in writing, in the agreement.
Is there a base salary?
No. This is commission only, and that's deliberate: it's what makes the split possible and what makes you a business owner rather than an employee. If you need a salary, our careers page is the better door.
How and when am I paid?
Monthly, on the gross profit collected from your accounts the previous month, on every file. The commission runs for the life of the account: as long as your customer ships, you're paid.
What does it cost to join?
Nothing. No franchise fee, no buy-in, no desk fee, no software charges. We make money the same way you do: when your freight moves.
Do I need to incorporate?
Most agents operate through their own corporation and invoice us monthly, which is the cleanest setup for both sides. If you're not incorporated yet, a registered business with an HST number works to start, and incorporating is inexpensive and quick in Canada.
Can I really work from anywhere?
Yes. There's no office to report to, no set hours and no minimum activity. Our platform is where the work happens, and it's wherever you are.
What happens if a customer doesn't pay?
Setara approves credit before freight moves, and Setara carries the receivable. Commission is paid on collected gross profit, so an unpaid invoice isn't earned by either of us, but the loss itself is ours to chase, not yours.
What can I sell?
The full Setara platform: ocean and air freight, rail and intermodal, truckload and LTL, drayage, warehousing, project cargo, and customs clearance through our licensed broker partner. One relationship, every mode.
